Secret Origins

How does a man decide to become a real life norwegian superhero? Well, this is the public part of the secret origins of the not-so-famous Jim Diesel written by himself (me).

There was a kid who grew up on the tales of heroes. He found them in books, comics, mythology and movies. He admired their ability to take action, for their people, their god, even totally strangers. To make his actions matter for many was the ultimate dream. To make his life matter. Not just be ski tracks fading with the snow.

He carried his dream for a long time. He had intrest in people. How they lived, how they prayed, what they valued and what they needed. But at some point, this now young man met a stunning beauty, and suddenly all his intrests was his own little family. He still had the intrest of people, so he went to a university and learned about people. Then he got a job. And he was like anybody else.

One morning he woke up, wondering who the heck he was. He didn't recognize the young lad planning on making a difference. He had no idea what he was doing. He was about to panic, jump into his car and drive off to Africa or something, but he realized there was way to many reasons to stay where he was. The changed he needed was only within himself. He had to change for himself and his family.

Then out of nothing he remembered something he read in a magazine (he was good at remembering stuff he red, so am I). It was about a real life superhero. With his intrest in people, he didn't write him off as a wierdo, but instead tried to understand his reason for becoming a real life superhero. He remember he understood the consept. He even admired him.

That morning I was born, from his forgotten ideals to make a difference (and ability to look good in spandex). He decided to change himself to something better, to make his/my life and this world better. Now I stand here forever changed, and yes, I do indeed also find it confusing to switch between a third and first person when I'm telling this story, but it made it more epic. Right? My mission: Do what I can to make this world a better place. For me, my kids, your kids and even my grumpy neighbor.

Why? Because I'm a superhero.
I'm Diesel.
